It seems that barely a day goes by without media debate on the subject of green-house gases and global warming. Although Carbon Dioxide is now recognised as being largely responsible, all organic compounds released to atmosphere will have a contributory effect. This of course, includes Styrene, the reactive diluent used in our resins & gel coats.
For many years, Cray Valley has actively reduced the Styrene content of resin & gel coat products. Lower Styrene content means reduced levels in the workshop and lower emissions to the environment. The lower Styrene content is combined with intelligent product formulation so that performance is not compromised. Products include the Enydyne range of resins, Encore 2000 general purpose resins and Polycor gel coats: inherently lower in Styrene content than most competitive products.

The above products are supplemented with the long standing Encore LSE range which utilise film forming technology to suppress emissions.
Cray Valley also offers a comprehensive range of resins for RTM and related Closed Mould Processes.
Styrene emissions are subject to both COSHH regulations in the workplace and the Environmental Protection Act in respect of discharge to the environment. Cray Valley is able to advise processors on the detail of these regulations and the means for compliance. |
